SAFETY DAY 2011

ANOTHER SAFETY DAY AT THE DROP ZONE
Saratoga Skydiving Adventures, in association with Duanesburg Skydiving Club, will be hosting The 2011 Safety Day, at our Northern location, at Heber Airpark in Gansevoort, NY starting at 10:00 a.m. on March 12, 2011.
Yes, it is that time of the year again! Time to knock the dust off of our gear and clear the winter cob-webs from our brains before the season really gets going. That doesn't mean just jumping, we need to get our heads into the game before we get into the sky.
We will start things off with equipment review, packing, and gear check. Doug Karandy will be next up with airplanes, load organization, in-flight procedures, exits, and of course, aircraft emergencies. Sean Karandy will then be presenting skydive freefall, breakoff and tracking, and opening safety. Josh Ryder will be talking to us about canopy safety, including contol checks, collision avoidance, traffic patterns, and landings. Doug will close for us with emergency procedures.
Following safety day presentations we will enjoy food and beverages, and then, weather permiting, we will jump until dark, followed by the beer light.
Please come join us everyone, and help us make our 2011 season as safe, and as fun, as possible.
LAKE GEORGE WINTER CARNIVAL

As Saratoga Skydiving Adventures has done for many years, and in partnership with Duffy's Tavern, we operate our skydiving operation in Lake George each weekend during the February Winter Carnival.
Saratoga Skydiving Adventures helped The 2011 Lake George Winter Carnival get the festivities started with the traditional ceremonial American flag jump. Local jumper Mike Smith was the first jumper out the door, and over the lake this year followed by Larry Sandgren jumping in the traditional 15x25 foot American flag. Skydiving will continue throughout the carnival, weather permitting.
The Best Western Motel on Rte. 9 just off exit 21 of The Northway I-87 is offering rooms with double beds to skydivers for $79.99 per night. Call for details 1-518-669-5701.
In a special event we were glad to help a young couple in love!
At 5000 feet above Lake George we had the pleasure of helping Sam propose to Amber while riding to altitude for their tandem skydives. We had him turn around and get on his knees to show Amber a magic trick. It got very quiet and he just wispered it into her ear, tears started flowing and a quiet "Yes" and a kiss and hug ensued. The ring was a big chunk of amber. Then, it was time to hook up and jump! She jumped first, and did a great job! Congratulations to you both, and we will be glad to jump you guys into the wedding!
Winter is on the way, but the fun never stops!

We are the only area Drop Zones operating 365 days a year (weather permitting of course).
Just like any other winter activity, if you dress for it you will enjoy it. Call to reserve your Tandem slot today!
Please remember, we are totally dependant on the weather. Clouds and wind can stop the skydving, and sadly we cannot control those things. We are here for your fun and safety and we will not jump in bad weather. We cannot promise that you will jump the day of your training or schedule, but we will do everything we can to make it happen. We do not give refunds for weather related delays, but you may return to jump when the weather is better for no extra cost.
No matter when your scheduled time to jump is we adjust loads keep the plane flying. We will make every effort to have you jump at your scheduled time, but many things are out of our control. Plan on spending the day with us, no matter what time you get here.
